This hospital has saved my life several times over the years. Yes, you have to wait but, it's not their fault. They go by priority and saving lives. They took care of both my parents before their passing and although not perfect, whenever they're was an issue they fixed it right away. At least 3 times I was close to dying and I'm here because of their care. I got a few extra years with my parents thanks to them. Their doctors and care staff are the best ever. I can only speak from my experience and I would highly recommend them.
I had the worst experience in the er on Thursday 12/18. I arrived at Methodist via ambulance. I was in excruciating pain. I didn't have pants, shoes, or my glasses because I was so out of it I didn't think to tell ems staff I needed those things. I laid in a bed in hallway F right by the exit doors for hours waiting on a scan. I kept telling them my pain level was 9 and 10. It hurt to breathe and my 02 kept decreasing. The nurse gave me a small dose of morphine, but when it wore off she couldn't offer me anything else. She asked if I wanted a heating pad, I said 'yes' but she never brought it. When I finally got my scan done, they realized I had a hernia was completely compacted. They then rushed me to the OR for emergency surgery at 1 am. I got to the er around 6pm on Thursday. I laid there in the hallway and listened to the nurses discuss the holiday party and Christmas presents. I begged people that walked by for ibuprofen or anything to stop the pain. They treated me like I was an addict looking for a fix. It shouldn't have taken so long to get a scan with my pain level. I wasn't afforded privacy, dignity, or consideration on one of the worst days of my life. The nurse that worked on me rolled her eyes several times when I complained about the pain. She was more worried about the blanket falling off me because I only had underwear on.
We are extremely grateful to Dr. Merlyn Thomas and Nurse Tosin for the exceptional care they provided to my wife throughout her medical condition and delivery. Dr. Merlyn Thomas was knowledgeable, calm, and reassuring, taking the time to explain everything clearly and making us feel confident and supported at every step. Nurse Tosin was equally outstanding and always checking in to ensure my wife’s comfort and well-being. The delivery experience itself was handled with true professionalism and top-notch service. I do want to note that one of the baby nurse was rude and did not handle the baby as gently which was disappointing. She literally brushed the thermometer against my baby cheek. However, this was a very small exception. Overall, we are very thankful for the excellent medical care and support we received and would highly recommend Dr. Merlyn Thomas for her dedication and professionalism. Five stars for Merlyn thomas and Tosin!
