We visited Huis Belgian Bar and Kitchen and really enjoyed the place. The portions are huge and definitely great value for money. We had the roasted pork, which was very flavorful and delicious. The only small downside was that the dauphinoise potatoes were slightly undercooked. They also have a very good beer selection. Overall, a great experience and we would happily come back.

It is so easy to write a review like this ... Huis is absolutely fantastic, the atmosphere & service was spot on. The food was incredible I had Peanut Satay meatballs, my Queen went with Roughfort mussels, my mate had Pork Belly and Mrs.H had the deep fried lasagna.. finished off with a very indulgent waffle. Also they is a huge selection of Beers to choose from ..it's a small place so I highly recommend booking..you will not be disappointed. We absolutely loved the experience.

How have I not been here before? Open 10 years. Very different and unique in the area - a Belgian food extravaganza with something to please everyone. Classic moules et frites with a variety of sauces, my confit duck was delicious and I could have died finishing my Christmas Pudding waffle with both cream & ice cream. Brilliant Belgian beers with recommended food pairings work so well. I have to commend this place to anyone passing or make the trip!

Huis is without a doubt my favourite restaurant. I’ve visited a few times now, and every single visit has been just as enjoyable as the last. The interior is beautifully thought out and artistically designed, perfectly reflecting its Belgian roots. It creates a relaxing, unique atmosphere, with so many interesting details to look at that really add to the experience. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and want to take your time. What makes Huis Southsea truly special is their culinary experimentation. The menu is always evolving, with new additions that sound incredibly tempting, while their staple dishes remain outstanding. My absolute favourite is the steak et frites, hands down the best steak frites I’ve ever had, and I don’t say that lightly. And the waffles… they are genuinely to die for. If you visit, trying a waffle is an absolute must. To top it all off, their vast selection of European beers, triples, ales, and wines is exceptional, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to helping you find the perfect pairing.
