Hyatt Lodge Oak Brook Chicago

I had my wedding at the Hyatt Lodge on September 13, 2025, and it was truly the most perfect day. I’m so happy with our venue choice. Throughout the planning process, Ashley was always responsive and supportive, helping bring my vision to life. On the day of, we had a wonderful captain who checked in with me, gave me his card, and made sure any needs were taken care of right away. For the reception, Cheryl was our captain and she went above and beyond—she even packaged cake for us since we didn’t get a chance to have any, and she brought the rest of our late-night snacks over to our after-party, which was such a thoughtful touch.|While the food wasn’t quite as amazing as it had been at our tasting (understandable when serving 185 guests), everything else exceeded expectations. The property is stunning, and it was so convenient to have everything in one place—ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after-party, brunch the next day, and even hotel rooms for our guests. We chose the Grand Oaks Ballroom, and I loved how unique it felt compared to other ballrooms. I would highly recommend the Hyatt Lodge to any couple looking for a beautiful, all-in-one wedding venue!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review Everything about our stay at the Hyatt Lodge in Oak Brook was amazing! From the super friendly front desk team to the incredible food managers, Heather and Eric, everyone made us feel welcome and taken care of. The rooms were beautiful and spotless, with huge showers that were such a treat. The pool and hot tub were nothing short of amazing, the perfect way to relax after a long day. The architecture of this place is absolutely phenomenal! It feels so unique and peaceful, not like your typical hotel. A special shoutout to Luis, the bartender such a great guy! Very funny, personable, and made our evenings at the bar so enjoyable. We were in town for family matters, and the staff went above and beyond to be understanding and accommodating. The hotel is gorgeous, the food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. This is officially our go-to spot, we won’t stay anywhere else when we’re in the area!

As this was a Hyatt Oakbrook hotel I was expecting a bit more wow. However it had let us down, from the time it took to book the hotel for one night it took forever on the phone. Also we were never asked if we wanted a smoking or non smoking room and were put in a smoking room which reeked of smoke. We tried to get the room changed but alas there was no one at reception to help us. Yes there was a wedding going on but it seemed only guests for the wedding were priority. The decor of the hotel is extremely outdated and carpets in the hallway were shredded on the 2nd floor (major safety hazard) . Also when I booked the room I was told we would get a forest view room, instead we got the entrance view which was frustrating as the wedding was loud and so were the guests at 2am in the morning. |Breakfast was also meant to be included in the price of the hotel room when I booked and alas this was not the case and we ended up having to purchase breakfast. Staff in the restaurant area were also lacking in attention and service took well over an hour. I understand this was an old Mc Donalds teaching place as well but you could at least change out the artwork that still has McDonalds theme in them. There is so much potential in this hotel yet it seems the Hyatt company just did not care or completely forgot to fix this hotel up as it felt like a night going back in time to 1995. There is retro and there is just clean it up and brighten it up too. Completely disappointed and wish I could get a refund. Not sure what else to say but I unless things change for this Oakbrook hotel I would find it hard for anyone to want to stay there again. Would love for you to change my opinion but there were so many issues that it felt like whoever is running the hotel was not even paying attention.
