Customer experiences
Super seasonal food executed perfectly with a focus on fresh tastes and simple but elegant presentation. Excellent value set lunch menu, accessible but quality wine list and warm friendly service. Would highly recommend to any discerning diner.
People have been telling us for years how good this place is, and now I know why! It was my birthday, so I booked a table for lunch with my mum and my gf. We all had a glass of [English] bubbles while we decided what to have. Two of us had starters: - celeriac & goats cheese salad, celeriac puree and crisps, hazelnut dressing and - ham hock & pistachio terrine. Both were delightful, with a much higher percentage of meat in my terrine than I think I've ever had in one before (which is a good thing), and all three of us tried them both. For mains, accompanied by an excellent organic Cote de Rhone (mum's choice) we had: - blade of beef, root vegetables, mash, red wine sauce - leek, potato and mushroom tart, wilted spinach, white wine cream, prorcini dust - gurnard, mussel, sweetcorn, cumin & turmeric broth (I was expecting something akin to a bowl of chowder, but was very pleasantly surprised to receive a beautifully cooked fillet of gurnard sat atop a handful of mussels and a lovely sauce). Once again, all the dishes were excellent and, once again, we had to try each other's. I was the only one with enough room left for a pudding, so I went for the white chocolate mousse, raspberry jelly, toasted almond crumb, which arrived with a candle on 😀. Once again, I was delighted and, once again, evryone tried it and agreed 😀 Not only will I definitely be coming back, I have already started recommending it to [good] friends! P S. It's small and cosy (oringinally a fisherman's cottage dating back to the 17th century), so I'd say booking ahead was sensible.
THE place to eat if you’re anywhere near Emsworth. Book in advance and I hope you are lucky enough to get in. We had a fabulous 3 course lunch Saturday afternoon- a long walk- then returned for dinner! For lunch I had the torched mackerel, followed by the Hake then a sumptuous dark chocolate tart. My partner had the lovely pork terrine starter with followed by pork belly with bubble and squeak, then an amazing cheesecake. For dinner we both had the veal shoulder. Nice wines by the glass all reasonably priced. Really looking forward to returning. Wondering why they’re not on the Michelin list…
A lovely dining experience with friendly staff in an old fisherman's cottage, which gave a lovely homely atmospher. I had the charred bream to start off with it was very nice with a miso sauce and chilies. My main was the venison which was cooked perfectly (medium rare) it came with a lovely horseradish ketchup and was fantastic I definitely recommend it. Also good wine list.
Kyoto Kitchen is a japanese restaurant.
