Taste ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Selection ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Presentation ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Value ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This place is an absolute gem of Portsmouth. The food is just so wonderful and we love the tapas style so you can get all kinds of flavours. Have been here several times for special occasions and it has been consistently wonderful. My only complaint is that it is fairly pricey and when you are in a group larger than 4 the tables you are seated at are tiny. Our group of 6 were really squeezed in and there was no other option for us.

We had the most wonderful experience at Maya. From the moment we walked in, Mia, our waitress, really went above and beyond. She even surprised us with a sweet handwritten card to celebrate our engagement, which just made the evening feel extra special. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish, and that dessert at the end was just unbelievable. Honestly, the whole experience was a 10 out of 10 and made our special day even more memorable. Thanks for such a fantastic evening!

Beautiful looking food.....with so many issues!!! Ok, everyone raves about this place and its hard to get a booking...however it is most definately style over substance and.....cooking!! Pre-booked and arrived at 8pm for out meal! The first thing you notice is how cramped it is and on 3 occassions one of the waiters accidentally kicked or knocked the table hard, when rushing by. Things didnt get any better as having ordered 14 plates....it all arrived in under 10 minutes??? Lowlights included: Flank steak arriving but stone cold Caukiflower steak in Katsu sauce, being a quarter of cauliflower and deep fried. Unfortunately this resulted in a half edible, half raw bland mess Aubergine with feta, was a sad mistreatment of aubergine where theyd gutted it and used it basically as a shell (total waste) Beetroot Cerviche....not sure what was going on here as it looked and tasted lile someone had just diced aload of jarred beetroot and served it up. Prawn tacos....tasted suspicously overly fishy Potato bravas....stone cold! The only highlight were the pork belly and beef Ragu, (piping hot) both of which were admitedly very tasty That however is 2 out of 14!!!! With the speed it come out i would guess that all the dishes are prepared and 'ready to go' and are constantly being made and topped up which is why the Ragu came out piping hot and everything tepid or cold! Was alao £6 for a warm Modelo 330ml bottle and £55 for an uninspiring bottle of Rose We didnt have dessert and were in and out in under an hour. Conveyor belted sprang to mind Definitely wouldnt go back.

We booked last minute and are so glad that we did! Wow! What a great experience. Food was to die for. Service was the perfect blend of professional and genuinely friendly. Vegetarian or vegan? Simply ask for the V/VG version of the menu. We had 2 Nibbles, then 3 mains, added 2 more mains as the first 3 were so good. Then being almost stuffed to the brim added 1 dessert... well how could we pass up the chance that the dessert would be as good as the mains?......... We were not disappointed, the chilli chocolate dessert was awesome (and so many desserts are a proper let down after such a good main menu). If you look through the photos, the wine cooler is either marble/granite? And comes from thier freezer which is a first for me. What more can I say? Thanks guys, it was perfect. If I have one complaint.... I wish we'd found you sooner and not on the last night of our visit to Portsmouth 😃
