From my first pregnancy I had an amazing experience. Starting my second pregnancy it was horrible. Dr Hickey was HORRIBLE. She refused to give medicine that my baby needed to make sure she didn't have a heart blockages (mind you I was on it my first and she knew that) she refused to give it to me solo based off her "belief" once I finally got to see her in person she was very nasty I tried to explain to her why I needed the medicine that was all over my record that I needed and she responded back "im not taking about your baby im talking about you" she is very nasty. I explained to everyone at medstar i do not want anything to do with her reading my chart or ANYTHING that has to do with my child. Since I was 9 weeks I have not seen her. Fast forward to today, I am being seen by Dr Spencer and he is AMAZING DOCTOR. He explained why I don't need t be monitored as much as I was with my first pregnancy when I went to my rheumatologist and he told me I needed to me monitored more I called Dr. Spencer, and he listened to me and heard me out. Explained things to me. If you go to medstar and and are high risk, just skip right over Dr Hickey and only see Dr Spencer he is Amazon and will really listen and address your concerns. Also the sonographer at the women's pavilion Tonya is 10 out of 10 I will only see her and have only seen her for both pregnancy Absolutely love her. She takes her time with you. She is the absolute best.

Thank you for helping my mom MedStar Franklin Square! She is in ICU and the doctors are wonderful and so are most of the nurses with her. Tonight was a little disappointing only because it seemed like her nurse and RT were very 🙄😑 to me as a family member by me simply introducing myself. They came in the room without politely introducing themselves (we have modules on this). I had to ask who they were and guess the position based off their out fits. (The PCT at least said hello upon entering) I guess I’m used to every one being super vocal during the day about who they are and what they’re doing, also being a MedStar employee myself I know people come to our facilities because “It’s how we treat people!” EVS is phenomenal always, so are all the daytime staff. I would strongly encourage families to be present at night with your loved ones. This isn’t the first night here I’ve observed this. The energy is definitely different after 1900 (7pm).

Now that I have a moment to sit down and write this review. My daughter was brought in by ambo the beginning of November. She was admitted for two health conditions we did not now she had. The first week she was there she had scans done and blood work. When the scans came back the doctors and nurses were giving us the run around about my daughter condition. To the point they had to send her scans to other hospitals to get a confirmation of her condition. One of the hospitals 100%confirmed her condition. While doctors here at Franklin Square still was “unsure”. Days later my daughter was released to come home. Three days later my daughter was rushed back to Franklins square because the same conditions came back. This time she was admitted and there for two weeks. This go around they treated my child as a Guinea pig. It all balled down to her having a spinal tap that had complications afterwards. Which she was put on different pain meds (strong pain meds at that) that were not helping. They would which one pain meds to another and then back to the other pain meds they took her off. Which lead to my child calling me in the middle of the night because she was in so much pain and the staff really over looking and not really hearing her as to how she was feeling. The only person who made a difference in my child care was her neurologist. HE fixed the problem. Meaning the other doctors just put a band aid on the problem and not fixing it. But rather push heavy opioid’s in my child. HE made changes and my child was feeling better the next day versus the two weeks she had been there. And while my child was there the nurses ignored her call button. And would not walk in the room for an hour later. My child bedding was not changed daily unless I requested the bedding and changed it myself. Her floor was a mess. Nurses would leave a mess behind them as well. I had to really act out of character to have things done and for them to take me seriously. There was only two nurses and the neurologist doctor that really took my child care seriously. If my child or any of my children need to go to a hospital it will NEVER be Franklin Square. They way they handled my daughter is really caused for a malpractice suit. We never received any updates on lab results. But yet they continued to take blood daily. The way my daughter would ask questions about her condition and the doctors would pretty answer quickly with the same answer of not knowing anything and to rush out of the room. I forget the neurologist name. (Begins with a D) I thank him so much for taking the time out to really answer my daughter questions and giving her a little peace of mind as the other doctors didn’t. I would not recommend this hospital unless it’s your last resort. There is more to this. As I am very upset, I will just end the review.
