Customer experiences
My 34 year old roof needed replacement. I was drawn to Jeremiah's laid back, minimal sales approach. It showed self-confidence in his company and fit my personality. I also liked that this is a family-owned business run by brothers. I got bids from 3 other companies and learned something from each. Moore was competitively priced and performed high-quality work. Everything was done professionally, and I am very happy with my decision to go with Moore & Sons..
This team just finished replacing my roof, soffits, insulation and a skylight/roof window in my East Grand Rapids home. I got 3 quotes for this job and they were all very comparable price wise but this was the only one that could handle the whole job independently. Other large companies wanted me to coordinate insulation installation while the roof was torn off and another tried to talk me out of the skylight because their company doesn’t do them. Moore and Sons simply listened, quoted the entire job and executed it in the time frame promised. I had one concern (more of a preference) during the project and it was addressed quickly and professionally. The crew was skilled, respectful and left a clean work site. My project came out beautifully and if I ever need another roof this will be the one and only company I’ll use.
Overall, I’m happy with our roof installed by Moore & Sons Roofing. The salesman who came out was friendly and knowledgeable, the crew worked quickly and did a good job with cleanup. They had the best selection of shingles/colors of the four quotes I got. What I didn’t love: they said they would reroute our ventilation ducts straight up from the top floor bathrooms. They were leaking due to condensation and a long horizontal run to the side of the house. I told The salesman about where they were, and I assumed at some point before cutting holes in the roof, there would be crew members in the attic, assuring placement of the gooseneck vents on the roof. Instead, they just cut holes in the roof, and on one of the vents, were about 12 feet off. Thankfully, the crew came out and connected the vents a week later, and said if there were any leakage due to the long run, I could give them a call. So I guess we’ll see this winter!
A few family members of mine have had Eric Friar out to their homes to inspect some roofing issues. I happened to be there for 1 of them and I was so impressed by the way he approached us with a huge smile and was so ready to just truly listen to what the issues were with no pressure, just pure patience, never rushing us at all. And on top of that the information he was sharing both before and after inspection were so clear and 'on our level' which, to me showed how much knowledge he truly has for this industry as well as how much he respects his customers. He made it so that my family wanted to work with Moore and Sons and specifically with Eric!
