Customer experiences
I just had the absolute worst banking experience at Navy Federal in Gurnee, IL. We have a business account with Navy Federal. To make a long story short. We own a franchise, which operates as a different name than our entity that actually owns the franchise location. For the past few years we have signed our checks the same way. Unfortunately, we have to rely on mobile banking being that we are over 100 miles from the nearest location. So, our check is written out to The Patchboys (the franchise that we own) and when we attempt to deposit we are being told that it doesn't match our business account. That's totally understandable, however my issue is how it was being handled in the bank as we were being treated like scammers who aren't members of the bank. First, the experience with the teller Nyree, who refused to here me out. Unfortunately, I witnessed her interaction with the African American gentleman in line ahead of me, and let's just say she is more patient with other ethnic groups. Welp, it was my time to deal with Nyree and if I had to sum it up with one word, UNPLEASANT would be my choice word for her. As, I attempted to explain my situation to her, her responses were very short and not accommodating. Even when past practices shows that we have been depositing checks like this for the past few years, she flat out says doesn't matter, she doesn't need to know anything but current bank rules. We'll helllllooooo, I bank here if there is an issue with a check we are trying to deposit, especially when we have deposited every check prior to this in the same manner. At the very least, you would think we deserve d some type of explanation. So, needless to say she wasn't of any help, so I spoke with the bank leader Angelia. I must say Angelia wasn't UNPLEASANT she was helpful but still some questionable actions. She keeps assuming that I have no account at Navy Federal, when we have multiple. Also, she keeps talking about cashing the check and keeps telling me that even if they accept the funds won't be available. We'll, no crap I came to deposit a check into my business account not cash a multithousand check and walk out of the bank with cash. So, I agree that that's fine we want to simply deposit the check. She says thats fine while providing one last warning that the funds wont be available today 😪🤷🏿♂️ and she asked us to go back in line with the teller. Once again we never came here to get any cash or receive anything other good customer service and the right to deposit this check. We stood back in line and Angelia comes and pulls us out of line and tells us that the bank won't be able to help us. This is very embarrassing being pulled out of line at a bank that you're a member at and being treated like a scammer. So, she recommended calling the business line which we did. Which was still disturbing that they keep saying we are attempting to do business as "The Patch Brothers" when clearly its "The Patchboys". She says well I'm just reading the notes entered by Angelia at the bank. At, this point I'm exhausted I just tell the Phone rep that I will seek a new bank. The fact that we can't even get accounts rotated correctly between the branch reps and the phones reps is highly disturbing. Not to mention, there was apparent treatment of certain groups of people that was worst than others. God bless you Navy Federal but we will be moving on to a more functional bank.
Zero stars. Their service is the worst I have ever encountered. When you use your card to make purchases, the charges are held in pending charges. The amount of the purchases is removed from your account, and reflects in your available funds. 2 weeks later your account is charged for a second time. Navy Federal Credit Union robs us, then tells you they're not stealing your money. When you clearly see them doing it. Then tells you it's your responsibility. They shut my debit card off, banned me from calling, banned me from going into any branch, and told me to do my banking on the mobile app. I don't have a debit card, I can't access my money. I'm trying to file a class action suit against Navy Federal Credit Union. Anybody know of any good law firms? I'm sure I'm not the only person who has been treated this way. Navy Federal Credit Union, you will be sued in the coming months, even if I have to file the lawsuit myself.
Really good to be able to walk in and withdraw a large amount from your account without being investigated. The teller was nice and professional.( Fifth 3rd in Naperville could learn something about treating people with respect from Navy Federal)
Waited 40 minutes for a banker ok not a problem BUT to have to leave her office to go stand in a line to get a cash transaction is ridiculous!! I’ve already waited to be assisted! Never had to do that before as many times I’ve been here! Make the customer who already waited WAIT some more smh
