Let me start by saying if you value your life or your loved one’s life. DO NOT take them to the ED at NMC. They will dismiss you, act like you’re not there. Patient care is an absolute joke! They told my loved one when she came in with extreme pain that she couldn’t have pain meds till they got a iv line in. Took them over 5 hours to do so!!! Also, we had no idea what was going on because they literally told us nothing. Infusion team took over 2 and half hours to get there to try to get a iv line in.. which they couldn’t. They put her in a diaper and then left her to sit in her urine for over 5 hours without changing her or even inquiring if she needed to go. Even when I asked if she could be changed I was written off. Absolutely horrific! Oh and the “patient advocate” is a flipping joke. Don’t even waste your time talking to that lady. She only hears what she wants to. Sickening!! Say yourself the trouble and go somewhere else because this place is not it. I gave them 2 stars because the medical staff on the medical surg. Unit were very gracious and kind and cared. Val your ED is a joke!

I mean if you’re okay visiting a family member thats admitted to surgical and being treated like absolute trash or your loved one drugged up… then this is the place for you! Would not recommend as professionalism is lacking. My sister and I were treated like crap while visiting our grandpa all the way to the extent of threatening to remove us from the hospital. Simply asked a question and tried to help keep him from being “angry” or “combative” so he can recover and not be drugged up and got our heads ripped off.

I have nothing but praise for NMC. I went to the ER with appendicitis and waited less than a minute to begin receiving care. Everyone I interacted with during the ER visit, surgery, and two nights in the hospital, from reception to nurses and CNAs and doctors to custodians and cafeteria staff, every single person I interacted with showed care for me, was responsive to my questions, and made a very unpleasant experience into something bearable.

Had a great experience until the bills for our newborns kept coming and coming, some of them 6 months after they were born. Today I recieved a letter from a law office claiming I owe even more! I've always paid bills on time, the day I recieve them. I've even called the front desk to double check bills have been paid and am always told they are. NMC is either being intentionally dishonest or they are incompetent for billing. This has been strssful, caused a lot of anxiety for the unknown, and may effect my credit score. I'm stuck wondering what will happen next or when the next bill will arrive. I really wish we would not have used this hospital at this point. This is truly unacceptable.
