Customer experiences
Location was optimal, I was in walking distance of old town and downtown and close to all the restaurants, shops, parks, etc. The room was very tidy, bed sheets and pillows clean, bathroom clean, microwave, drawers, fridge, tv, and the overall room was very pristine. Bed was very comfortable, room temperature was perfect. Security at the front desk made me feel safe in the building, plus the additional locks on my room door which is an added plus for me. When I had an issue or question, front desk assisted me and took care of it. Anyone that is complaining of the carpets being dirty, hasn't stayed in enough hotels. Floors are floors, if your concerned with cleanliness of the carpet. Then do what I did bring either an extra pair of slippers or socks to walk in you room. Shuttle service to and from the hotel from the airport was quick and efficient. Would recommend this hotel for those that are budget conscious or looking for a hotel in a prime location in downtown Yellowknife.
We reserved rooms at the Nova Inn for workers who had just completed a demanding project in Yellowknife. On paper, this hotel looked like the perfect place for a well-earned rest. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Despite having a reservation and confirmation, the Nova Inn overbooked and had no rooms available for our team. In 2025, this level of mismanagement is simply unacceptable. Instead of honoring their commitment, they moved our crew to another property that was far below standard — dirty, uncomfortable, and absolutely unfit for the circumstances. A reservation should mean something. At Nova Inn, it clearly does not. If I could give zero stars, I would. Their word means nothing, and I would strongly caution others against relying on this property.
The room I stayed in was run down, carpet made a filthy impression and I froze the 2 nights that I stayed. In the morning I had to find a proper coffee with cream somewhere else since although there was a coffee machine in the room, there was only dairy free whitener which is unhealthy stuff. Positive were the blackout curtains.
So far I have no complaints, pending accuracy of billing. Location is good, rooms were clean and staff nice and accomodating. The room was big, 2 queen beds, and has a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. This hotel does not offer breakfast or any kind of food. The inside temperature was comfortable.
Nova Inn Yellowknife is a hotel.
