Power Yoga Canada - Oakville

This is a nice yoga studio and definitely worth going to! I have been to 18 classes and experienced 7 or 8 different instructors. The staff are very nice and my most favourite instructors are Joseph and Pino. Their classes are absolutely excellent!! They both have good energy and are encouraging. Pino makes a point to try to learn all the guests names- this is so sweet! PROS -nice location with plenty of free parking -a variety of classes offered with a variety of convenient times -when you enter the studio there is a nice vibe with music and such a lovely incense scent!! -the one month $59 trial is awesome -easy to use app -open 365 days a year! -at the end of class, a few of the instructors say a few encouraging words or motivating quotes. I find this very inspiring and motivating. -a refreshing cold lavender infused wet cloth is applied to your forehead during the cool down portion of the class. This is such a game changer! CONS -Music is often too loud and I have difficulty hearing the instructor. I have been to 18 classes and most of them had too loud of music. -Some classes are sometimes too packed which makes it uncomfortable and hard to enjoy the class. A example of an over packed class was on a Sunday, the lower maximum need to be implemented. My Sunday class had 57 guests! -The front shoe game is a mess and unregulated. Shoes are not to be worn inside the studio and are required to be left right at the front door. Unfortunately my daughter’s shoes got stolen. I know this is not the studios fault but it was disappointing. My daughter’s shoes were never returned. -The safety and security of guests items is questionable. There are no lockers- only cubbies that you put your stuff into. Staff say that they will watch your stuff but how do they know which cubby is mine? I could easily walk out with someones purse or bag (I would never do that) but my daughters shoes were stolen, so I wouldn’t be surprised if other items would be stolen as well as the front staff allowed shoes to be stolen right in front of them. The front desk staff said they would send an email out to the guests who attended the class but that doesn’t help as they were deliberately stolen on their watch :( My daughter had to drive home in her socks- so disappointing! -Classes do not start or end on time. This is unreasonable and unfair to the guests who have arrived on time or early. I should not have to wait to start a class just because we are waiting on 2-3 other people. I attended 18 classes out of my one month trial membership and never once did a class start or end on time. People account time to come and leave as specified and make plans and appointments accordingly. I should not have to wait on other people to arrive late and cause my class to start late. This needs to be enforced, it is just common courtesy -Please keep in mind that not all the guests are fluent in yoga terms so therefore do not know the exact names of yoga poses. I think it’s important for instructors to be aware of that and be sure to describe what the pose is. Some instructors did that but most didn’t. I found myself looking around and trying to figure out what many poses were because I wasn’t sure what the pose was. This caused frustration in the class for me. -Looks are deceiving, it appears very large from the outside but once you enter, there is only 2 yoga studio rooms (one is a hot studio and the other is a cold studio room), a few bathrooms, a few showers and a few small change rooms with curtains -The studio is quite small and dated, I have been to a few other yoga studios such a iGita and they are much bigger and more modern with lockers and free yoga mats to use Overalll, this is a nice Power Yoga studio and I am happy I checked it out for a month but I am on the fence if I will continue to attend and purchase another membership. I do recommend to try it!!!!

I have been coming to PYC Oakville even before I lived here! The energy at this studio is wonderful. I have always felt welcomed, positive, and energized entering the studio, It’s a very inclusive community! The space is clean and well kept. My favourite classes were with Stella and Nick! I also find the management and staff super helpful and accommodating. You never feel out of place even if you’re a beginner! Although I have not been for a year or more, due to some recent surgeries, I plan to come back when I am able to! Yoga is such a great practice. Way to go PYC Oakville! ♥️

The classes are challenging in the best way, always encouraging you to push your limits while staying grounded in mindfulness and intention.
