Customer experiences
Everyone at this client is extremely knowledgeable and friendly I have been coming to this clinic for years and have seen just about everyone. I recently have been spending a lot of time with Adam for RMT and will never look. He really knows what he is doing and understands how to heal/treat the body. I have seen Danielle for physio for the past year and she is hands down super kind , knowledgeable and helpful. I have also seen Daniel and that guy is a wizard he simply heals the body with his Chinese acupuncture skills. I recommend this clinic to everyone honestly anyone you see there is highly trained these are just my top 3 go to people and I feel safe with them and in good hands always.
I made this account just to share this experience because I was reminded how absurd it was. This is not my real name. The actual professionals here are beyond 5 star and unreal. That is what makes it so frustrating that I had to walk away from this clinic because of one front desk staff member. It was a younger lady at the time and it looks like she may no longer be there. She disrespected me over the phone during a family emergency. I had to miss a few appointments that week, including at other places, and I owned that. I even told her to go ahead and charge the no-show fee. That was not the issue. The issue was her complete lack of compassion and professionalism. Instead of handling it like a professional, she seemed to get on a power trip. Her tone, her words, the way she spoke were demeaning. It made me feel like I was garbage for missing appointments during one of the hardest weeks of my life. I have built my life and career on character, action, and compassion, so to be spoken to like that by someone who had no idea what I was dealing with was ridiculous. She acted like I was just irresponsible and wasting her time. Her bio at the time said she was an SFU student or recent grad working there. That made sense because she came across as immature and out of touch with compassion. Everyone has to start somewhere, but if you give someone a little power and they use it to disrespect people, that says more about them than the person they are speaking to. I let it go at the time because I was focused on my family emergency, but looking back, I feel it is only right to share this so the business knows. Every other staff member and provider I dealt with at River District Physio was the opposite. They were professional, respectful, and world-class. Even when I had to cancel appointments at other clinics during that same week, those staff showed compassion and handled it with grace. This one person stood out as an outlier and I cannot imagine the owners or the other professionals here supporting that kind of behavior. I respect policies and procedures. I paid the no-show fee and have no issue with that. But respect goes both ways. I do not expect anyone in a front desk role to be a hero. The role is to handle scheduling and customer service. If there is a real issue, escalate it to your higher-ups. What you do not do is demean customers, especially during a time of crisis. It comes down to respect and compassion. Everyone deserves that. Since it looks like she has moved on, I do plan to return and see my regular providers again because they are top-notch. If my experience reflects what I expect from the rest of the team, I will gladly change this to a 5 star review. Lesson for life: stay in your lane, show people respect, and do not power trip in a customer-service role. There are levels to this shit we call life. Or as Omar Little once said, “You come at the king, you best not miss.” Wise words.
I can’t say enough about River District Physio! The front desk staff and the physiotherapists are amazing and knowledgeable, and I love the team based approach! I’ve seen 3 different therapists due to my schedule but my treatment is coordinated and integrated by each. Most important - I went in with extreme pain and after a few treatments I am virtually pain free and well on my way to more mobility then I had before!
I’ve been going to physiotherapy my whole life and it’s been quite unremarkable up to this point but I had an amazing first appointment today with Danielle at River District Physiotherapy. She was very knowledgeable and helped me understand what was going on with my body. I always appreciate when health care providers take the time to explain things in a way I can understand. Looking forward to my next appointment in a few weeks and I don’t think I’ve ever said that about physiotherapy before haha.
