Another example of great service from the team at Farncombe. Had a worrying noise from car and didn’t want to take it on longer trip if it was something major. They let me pop over and quickly put it up on the ramp to check what the problem was and put my mind at rest that solution could wait until service booking in 4 weeks time (and would order parts in ready).

Stuart and team have been looking after my faithful runner for the past six years and have always been very helpful and provided excellent service. Have always used for annual MOTs, and when remedial work was required they carried it out swiftly as possible, without drama (see the ‘Karen’ review below), and at a fair cost. It’s rare to find such a decent and honest business. Highly recommend to those who appreciate good old school customer service. Thanks for such great attention and service.

A note on MOT’s - my understanding was ‘if your vehicle fails MOT that you have 10 days to get work done to get a free retest’ - a partial test of those specific failure points. A ‘fail’ is always going to be a frustrating and unplanned costly time for a car owner, and garages can choose how they support you through this as a local provider of good service. It seems garages can choose to - honour this, or, - only if they’ve done the work themselves, - or can charge a lower ‘retest fee’, or - simply charge you again in full. (Ref gov uk) At Farncombe if they don’t do the work you pay in full again. Learning: check the details as they make a difference and avoid unnecessary frustration and which leaves me only the choice to walk and leave brand.
