I visited this bank to open a business account for my incorporation, and the experience was absolutely appalling. The moment I arrived, it was clear the employee had no idea what they were doing. Within two minutes of our conversation, they left to consult someone in the back, only to return with another person who was just as clueless. I explained that all I needed was a business account to deposit shareholder funds—no loans, no credit cards, just a basic account. Yet, I was outright denied because my company isn’t provincially registered. I clarified, in detail, that my company is federally registered and that many businesses don’t need provincial registration to operate out of the province. But this explanation was ignored entirely. I had every required document in order, and still, I was refused. Do you honestly think corporations like Superstore or Walmart are provincially registered to do business here? Of course not—they’re federally registered. The staff’s lack of understanding is unacceptable. Meanwhile, other credit unions had no issue offering me business accounts under the same conditions. If the staff had informed me of this policy when I booked the appointment, I could’ve avoided wasting my time and energy. It’s clear that Stanback Credit Union lacks the proper structure to ensure employees are knowledgeable about basic policies and services. I was ready to open an account with $150,000. Now, not only have they lost a significant client, but I’ll be actively steering my family and friends away from your institution. I wasted two hours traveling to the branch and had to leave work early for this complete waste of time. This level of incompetence and disregard for customers is absolutely unacceptable. Do better.

I applied in Lagimodiere Branch for mortgage and have been discussed with mortgage specialist Marilyn Magtoto August 2, 2025. I sent to her all required documents and been waiting approval. But SCU never contact me back.I started looking for contact with Marilyn,called few times to call center and one person, finally, told me that Marilyn Magtoto is left company and not working anymore with us. Inspite of the bank is still working nobody contacted me .I started to contact bank to find contact with the management of this branch to understand what I have to do. I couldn't contact anybody except call center, who promised that I will get call next day. In parallel I tried to contact Marilyn Magtoto and she sent me message that she is not working anymore but person who will contact me is Nikome Tumbocom. Many times I tried to reach this person by phone by direct number and through the call centre but all the time without success. I'm really disappinted.

This credit union is totally useless. I would suggest new customers never ever had mortgage with this institution because they can never explain you briefly whats going on with your account if you have any questions. I have mortgage here don’t know what they are doing with the payments that they are deducting from my account because my loan amount is still same. They don’t follow any criteria to deduct the payments sometimes they send the full payment to interest and sometimes just $250 to principle out of $3000 thats ridiculous. And whenever you call them to know about this they will just ask you to hold and hold nobody has clear description without saying ‘Aa-Aa-Aa’. Moreover, if you will ask about payment got deducted from account regarding mortgage has not gone to any part of it to principle then don’t know what kind of descriptions they will give you and in last you have to end the call by asking thank you without getting any clear answers. So all in all i would recommend this institution to you if you have lot of money and you just wanna waste it out and wanna throw in bin then you can have mortgage from this institution.

Absolutely the worst banking experience I’ve ever had. Staff is so rude . Please don’t waste your time here . Avoid them if you can, it’s just a horrible experience
