On 5/5/25, I was admitted to Stormont Vail Hospital in Junction City. I had congestive heart failure and double pneumonia. I was 100% sure I was going to die! The health care team at Stormont went above and beyond to care for me and I can't be more grateful! If it wasn't for Dr Hazbun, Im sure I would have died. He coordinated all specialists and arranged consultations. He kept us apprised of all developments and drug treatments. By the fourth day, he had me out of the woods. Some minor tweaks and he was able to send me home. Feeling better than I have in a long time!!! God bless Dr Hazbun!

Went in for abdominal pain and the doctor shrugged it off as a stomach bug even though I had several before and I knew it wasn’t that. Went back when it got worse to the point I was passing out randomly and couldn’t move from the pain. Turns out it was internal bleeding. 3 stars cause they dismissed my severe symptoms but once I went back they rushed me to the stormont in Topeka for emergency surgery. So basically you have to be in severe critical condition for them to do something:) Nurses were ABSOLUTELY amazing though. Very kind and caring. Loved them.

I was a patient in energy room on 7 27 2025 Dr keir shusher was the doctor and I needed a central line he said I'm coming back to slit your throat when he started procedure I asked to numb it he did not numb my neck before plunging knife into it then he roughly applied 4 stitches very rough around the catheter this person should never work around humans let alone a hospital needless to say I will Never step foot in Stormount vail anything

There has been a huge improvement here since the hospital was acquired by Stormont Vail, and you can see it in the level of care as well as the updates they've made to equipment and furnishings. ER doctors and nurses are knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. There's one taller gentleman in security who is particularly caring, offering help to people who arrive at the ER doors. Even the registration folks are friendly. I now trust the healthcare professionals here which was not the case a couple years ago.
