Dr. Yan carries the best of the ancient Chinese medical acupuncture knowledge and offers it to us, citizens of a large modern city. Dr. Yan is very cheerful, attentive, and shows real care for a patient's problem. He discusses a condition in detail , answers questions, and looks into the core of the issue. He helps not only with the temporary relief of acute conditions but also does his best to eliminate the problem in the long run. No doubt , Dr. Yan is one of the best acupuncturists, and Vancouverites are very lucky to have such a doctor available.

Dr. Allan Lam is an excellent medical doctor and a miracle worker! In May of 2024, I had a right shoulder pain with great difficulty lifting my right arm (I believe it is commonly known as the frozen shoulder). I was unable to move my arm to reach my back. The massive pain was unbearable, I went to my family doctor who sent me to have an X-Ray taken. The results showed no sign of other illness or injuries except the pain. He advised me to take pain killers which I resisted. The pain affected my sleep quality as I frequently woke up in middle of the night. Eventually I went to see an acupuncturist and received treatment once a week for 2 months then every 2 weeks. The pain eased a bit but my arm and shoulder still had the nagging pain and can barely move my arm to the back. I heard of Dr. Lam through a friend in late September. After a 4 months' waitlist, I got an appointment in February 2025. I was skeptical prior to the appointment with Dr. Lam. However, I was quickly convinced after the initial treatment of the trigger point injection. I can feel the huge progress after the 2nd and 3rd treatments. The pain was much relieved. I was able to move my arm to reach the lower back and more flexible in movement with minor pain in certain position. In the beginning, I received treatment from Dr. Lam once every 2 weeks, then once every month. After 11 sessions, I feel I am almost back to normal with my arm reaching to the proper height of my back. I am now mindful while I am walking or sitting, as Dr. Lam always emphasis and stresses that proper posture will help to full recovery and prevent similar pain in the future. I would also like to express my gratitude towards the help and patience offered by Meng Meng, the receptionist and Mrs. Lam. They all helped in my recovery.

He made me feel safe, comfortable and brought a great amount of humour which I appreciate during our sessions together. He was very easy to work with and a kind soul.
