Tentworld Sydney - The Camping Experts

Range is good, brands carried are also reputable and staff are friendly and for the most part, informative. The issue was that we bought a tent because it was on sale however, we hesitated because of the size but went ahead with it with the reassurance that we could return it as long as it was brand new and unopened. We went in today to return it only to be told that the return could ONLY be issued as store credit; something I was NOT informed at the time. We were happy to get the footprint refunded (due to the low amount) but the tent was issued as store credit. The fact that it can't be contested due to the store policy is frustrating. I have store credit now but I don't even want to come back anymore. It just feels like a sneaky way to keep customers... I understand that tentworld is family owned and a small business but I was trying to return something brand new/unopened. You almost had me tentworld with my first time there being so exceptional that I never wanted to return to anaconda after that but at least anaconda doesn't make me feel like I have no choice but to shop with them if I have any change of mind... I didn't even have a choice in getting my money back and this has left a bitter experience. For this reason alone, I could only recommend tentworld to people who are CERTAIN of the products they need. Not a great place to explore your options or discover things since you can't get your money back if you have any change of mind after purchasing. I can't remember the last time I was left with a shopping experience as shocking as this one but I want to let others know what to expect if you're considering shopping here. If there is any way I CAN get my money back, PLEASE REACH OUT TO ME. I want a choice to shop there, not the feeling like I must shop there due to a policy I wasn't informed on.

Got some additional hiking stuff today and Reise/Reese (sorry for butchering the name) assisted us today. Great product knowledge and very accommodating! It’s always smooth and easy transacting with them and tentworld is our go to camping store. Great deals and lovely staff. Thanks!

I want to recognise Matt at Tent World Punchbowl for his outstanding customer service. His professionalism, commitment, and genuine care for customers are the only reasons I chose to return to this store. I had an issue that required management attention and attempted to contact the manager several times. Unfortunately, she was either unavailable or never returned my calls. This lack of responsiveness was extremely disappointing and nearly cost the business a returning customer. If it weren’t for Matt’s dedication and willingness to step up and resolve concerns, I would not have given this store another chance. He represents the standard of service customers expect, and the business would benefit greatly from recognising and promoting team members like him.
