I never thought after looking up dojos in Durham region after my son said he wanted to give karate another try (thank you Cobra Kai) we would be joining a family. I have not only witnessed my son learn how to defend himself (should he ever need to) I have witnessed his confidence, pride and self respect grow in ways I never thought imaginable. Every single instructor is incredible and truly knows how to engage children and adults alike. I was so amazed at what I was witnessing sitting on the sidelines, that I joined! There are classes every single day of the week that you can attend which is something I have never seen in other dojos. Usually it’s a couple classes a week. Karate not your thing? There’s tae kwon do, kickboxing, Zumba…. You can try it out for a week FOR FREE…so really you have nothing to lose and an entire family to gain. Hope to see you on the dojo floor.

I enrolled my son at Harmony Martial Arts after he had a bad experience elsewhere that left him feeling scared and hesitant. We joined primarily to help build his confidence, get him moving, and learn new skills. The team at Harmony Martial Arts was so welcoming and understanding. They allowed me to stay close to him in the beginning, which really helped him feel safe. He warmed up quickly and now absolutely loves it! He talks about his classes so proudly, and it’s amazing to see his confidence grow. My son has been a member of Harmony Martial Arts for 4 years. He has used primarily the Casper program where he is picked up from school everyday and taken to the center. He has progressed well through the karate program and throughly enjoys his teachers, the support staff and the other children. Being a part of the Casper program also gives him access to the other nightly/weekend classes and he has participated in the summer, winter and March break camps. I highly recommend this center for the wide range of martial art programs which you or your children can excel in and mainly because the staff are wonderful people who I love having in my life.
