Customer experiences
Avoid Reem Jan. Her fellow was great but Reem Jan was content to ignore my husband's pain for months, and never diagnosed him with anything, despite a long history of disabling symptoms. We switched to Chicago Arthritis who was much better at getting a proper diagnosis and medication. Oh and today I found out that UChicago hired an attorney to bust the resident's union instead of raising wages. What a shitty hospital.
This was one awful experience. Nice folks, but I went for the living donor program to potentially help out a friend who is need of a kidney. The first day of tests, I had a bunch of stuff. One being an EKG testing… well, while waiting two nurses come out and said the name Jim. There were two of us waiting, me at 46 yo and healthy, the other Jim an elderly man in a wheelchair. When I went in, they forgot to ask my full name and dob, and gave me his test which required shaving my chest. Putting on some two week long patch and what not. I didn’t eat for a day and half due to urine test and more. I go off to lunch before the next set of stuff and I get a call stating I needed to come back immediately. That’s when I learned they messed up. I imagine if it was a deadly mess up??? A week later, I get a follow up call to go over some stuff and to also ask me about my Bi-polar. Well, I have never been diagnosed for Bi-polar, so I am confused by this false claim. They apologized again. Then in early September I go back to do some blood draws with nuclear medicine to look over my kidney flushing rate. This is 5 hours of several blood draws. I leave when it’s done. Two days later, I am calling the on-call doctor for the UC medical because I have agonizing pain in the left arm from where the needle prick is and shooting up the bicep. They say I’ll be fine. The pain gets worse and worse and it’s all the way up the arm and into my armpit. I rush to urgent care to find out I am infected from their needles and now on antibiotics. This is on a Saturday. And it’s painful. Monday/tuesday, I talk to the living donor program about it, the disappointment of everything, but also I want them to pay the bill. Over a couple received apology phone calls, they said they would. They even asked for the bill. This past week, I am in collections with the urgent care. I email over to the nurse Amy who has been nice, to alert of the issue and to get on the payment ASAp. I get a follow up phone call from some lady Tenisha. She tells me leadership made a decision and won’t pay the bill, and that they (university) didn’t do anything wrong. How the heck can you claim that as a Medical Facility. Wrong EKG, wrong diagnosis, and then a bad infection. All of this happening from two visits. This is a dirty place, nurses who don’t check charts to make sure they have the right patient, and they don’t follow through on their word. They aren’t touching my body anymore. Can’t trust them to take out the right organ. Awful
Do not use them as PCP. Decent specialists, but if you wake up not feeling well and want to see your doctor, good luck. I woke up with vertigo, called to try to get a PCP appointment and was told the first available was in a month. When I said that I needed to see a doctor sooner, they said to go to the ER. I said that I didn’t think it was an ER situation and the reply was see you in a month then. I ended up going to a quick care clinic, was in and out in 20 min with meds that got me back on my feet. Why have a PCP if there is no way to see them when you need to?
I had my daughter on August 21 2025. She was delivered the . I love the doctor there. They was respectful . Love Kim my nurse. Made sure that good. All the doctor was good. Cause I had C-section. They made me feel safe and made me feel like was part of there family.
