Amazing care. Perfect execution of emergency room protocol. I came in with stroke symptoms. Near instantaneous head CT and a team of professionals swarming to make sure they would be able to minimize the damage if it was a stroke (look it up if you want to worry about strokes for the rest of your life, it is terrifying). An overnight stay later and it was thankfully found to be something else. Before they knew the cause, the entire staff did an amazing job making sure I ok with wake ups to check on me. They also kept my wife, daughter, and I comfortable. The nurses, technicians, kitchen staff, transporters, and doctors were all amazing. Every negative review I read on here seems to be from people who either do not understand triage (the process of determining who needs immediate care vs. who can wait) or probability and statistics. If you get here and it is busy, that is bad luck and has nothing to do with the hospital; they don't know when people are going to get hurt. If you had time to drive down the road to try a different emergency room, your emergency clearly was not as drastic as the other people going before you. If you get here with something that is super scary to you, but you are made to wait for a long time, take solace that either there are other people much sicker than you, or what is scary to you is not as concerning to the person who is responsible for saving lives. Something I would like the haters on here to consider. Having to be in a place like this is scary at best, I get it first hand. However, time taken to explain to someone who has a high likelihood of being ok and not needing any sort of urgent care is time not spent saving people who will have irreparable damage if made to wait a few extra minutes. I will take brutal efficiency in an emergency waiting room over polite, kind hand holding every day of the week because it means that if I ever come in with something truly serious, I will get the care I need over the care someone else wants.

I was there today. Waited a long time to be seen. A long time. Only because there were so many of us that needed help. They treated those who needed to be seen first, as they should have. I'm home now, in better shape then when I arrived. I'm thankful to the entire staff. From the man who was mopping the floors while I waited, to the orthopedic surgeon who relieved my pain. Great people, great place. West Michigan is lucky to have them.

Avoid at all costs. We came in for a serious issue, but were not taken seriously. The doctor, nurse, and another physician repeatedly lectured us about how the ER is “only for emergencies,” even though our situation clearly was one. It felt condescending and shaming. The doctor even compared our case to their daughter’s illness that “got better on its own,” which was completely inappropriate and not at all the same. Overall, the experience was dismissive, unprofessional, and deeply disappointing.

Took my daughter there tonight in extreme abdominal pain. The triage nurse was beyond rude. Said we would need to wait a minimum of 3 hours. I get if you are busy but she was brutal. Left and took her to another ER, taken back immediately. This is how you handle emergencies?
