Customer experiences

I had a terrible experience with Flair Airlines. During my flight from Toronto to Edmonton, one of my bags was slightly overweight, and although I understand policies must be followed, the staff at the counter were extremely rigid and unhelpful. To make matters worse, when I arrived in Edmonton, my luggage was damaged beyond use. I immediately filed a claim, but it has now been over three months with no response whatsoever. I’ve called customer service multiple times — each time I was promised a callback, yet no one ever followed up. The lack of accountability and communication is appalling. Flair clearly doesn’t care about customer service or resolving issues once they have your money. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend this airline to anyone.

My heart goes out to those employees working for this airline, you' all can only wear that fake smile for so long. All passengers whom have already purchased tickets believing this was the cheapest airline was fooled. Oh yes, cheap ticket but pay up for baggage, that's where they getcha! Have you ever noticed that Flair airlines never send you an email regarding your experience flying with the airline? Because it is never a good experience for all passengers. Which other airline charges $25 to check-in at the airport if you do not check-in online. This is the first Red Flag. Next, if your personal item doesn't fit into the small compartment then you must pay for a carry-on bag $95. (see pics below) Take notice of the most common scam that is played on innocent passengers, including myself. Be prepared when you book a flight with Flair airlines. BUYER BEWARE.

The worst airline I’ve ever flown with. I travel all around Europe with different low-cost airlines that have strict baggage rules and use the same type of aircraft models as this company. I always travel with the same backpack that perfectly fits the cabin luggage requirements. However, only this airline forced me to pay extra for my 12L backpack, treating it as a large piece of checked luggage. Their reason was that it supposedly wouldn’t fit under the seat. You can clearly see in the attached photo that my backpack fits perfectly. Can someone please explain why I ended up paying $95 for this? In fact, this company doesn’t even allow a small handbag or document case, which is completely absurd. I’ve never seen anything like that before — and I travel quite often.

Flair Airlines managed to put a damper on the entire experience with their customer service. The flight from Vancouver to my destination was smooth, no issues at all. Unfortunately, the return trip from Edmonton was where everything went downhill. At check-in, I immediately noticed the staff member I was hoping not to deal with, she looked unhappy to be there, and sadly, I wasn’t wrong. There was zero courtesy, zero smile, and an attitude that felt more like I was being punished than served as a paying customer. She enforced Flair’s baggage policy down to the millimeter. The exact same carry-on bag that passed without issue on the outbound flight was suddenly “too big” on the way back. The difference? 2 inches at most. The result? A $106 fee tacked onto my ticket. What made it worse was her demeanor. It wasn’t just about enforcing rules, it felt like she was taking it personally, as if my bag’s size somehow came out of her paycheck. That kind of attitude stays with you, and instead of remembering my great vacation, all I can think about now is how poorly I was treated at the end of it. I've seen how they stack these checked bag on to the airplane and that two inches doesn't affect anything. If I wanted my business to lose money on the long term, then she was doing a great job that day! Yes, Flair made an extra $100. But in doing so, they lost me and three others as future customers. If my first experience with Flair had been like this one, I never would have booked with them again. Customer service should be about building loyalty, not driving people away. Sadly, Flair doesn’t seem to understand that.
