Customer experiences
We had a great stay at the Travelodge by Wyndham Great Barrington. The owners and staff were super accommodating and really kind, especially since we were traveling with our 7-month-old. They made sure we had what we needed, which made the trip so much easier. The room was comfortable and the place has a nice charm to it. The pool area was very clean and well kept, and the location is excellent—restaurants within walking distance, a scenic path right outside, and just a short drive to hiking trails, wooded walks, and swimming spots. It’s not a luxury hotel, but the hospitality more than makes up for that (and honestly there weren’t many shortcomings at all). Perfect for anyone traveling on a budget and looking for a comfortable, welcoming place to stay. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area!
I was there on busy night so I was aware that we will pay extra being high demand. There is other high end franchise hotel in town, but they were charging way high than motel. so worth to try it. The staff are super kind; the room was spotless. Bonus points to Backyard pool quite relaxing.
I gave it a five for the reason that the bed was amazing! Location not too bad like 4 miles 5 miles off the highway… Service I only dealt with the gentleman who I think going to the place… But room it was super cute. We had our own little deck on little walkway. Super close to parking room was clean for the most part a little dated most certainly but clean and new beds that felt great.
UPDATE: In response to the reply from the hotel, yes I do have a good memory. When you experience an awful situation, the details are hard to forget. First of all, your explanation does not make sense. My review was based on the fact that I reserved a specific room well in advance, and then it was not available on the day I was to arrive. No one from the hotel notified me that my room was "no longer available". It had nothing to do with first floor or shower/tub accessibility. I paid for the queen suite, and you tried to give me a double queen at the last minute. That is unacceptable. If you had compensated by giving us two rooms, instead of leaving us with no place to stay, I would have left a glowing review. Original review: Major inconvenience! I reserved a queen suite well in advance. The day we were set to depart, I had packed the car and we were ready to pull out of the driveway. We had a 5 hour trip ahead of us (driving from Maryland). At the last minute, I had a question about whether or not to bring a shower seat fir my elderly mother. So I called the hotel to ask if their showers had them. It was then that they informed me that the room I had reserved was not available. They wanted to put me, my elderly mom, and my teenage son into a double queen, which I already know is not going to work for us. I always get a suite with a pull-out couch and a closed-off bedroom so that we can have peace and quiet away from my son's late-night gaming, and he wont have to whine about my snoring. In a niutshell, the hotel was not willing to give me something comparable, so I had to cancel my reservation. Thankfully, they refunded my money, but it was still an issue as far as where we were going to go for vacation. I had to search for an hour before I found something else, and it was in Vermont. So we were delayed in leaving for our vacation, and then we had to drive another hour. If the hotel would have called me as soon as they knew my room was not available, it would have at least saved me a lot of stress, though it would have still been inconvenient. If they had just given me something comparable, the whole ordeal would have been resolved, I doubt we will ever consider this hotel in the future.
Heart of the Berkshires Motel is a motel.
