Stayed at this hotel end of November 2024 for two nights. On arrival they took £100 deposit from us to cover damages and purchases. On checking out we were owed £85 from the hotel which they say was refunded to our card. A month and a half later we are still awaiting our money. We have tried to address this issue via the hotel who are adamant it was refunded, but it obviously hasn't been. Our bank confirms this. We are now locked in a ping pong battle with the bank and hotel to recover our money. On viewing other posts on here this seems to be a common issue and is verging on criminal. We will take this further as it appears others are falling fowl of this loss/theft of deposit money. Will definitely never stop here again. We are seasoned worldwide travellers and have never experienced this before. The level of help / interest in resolving this from the hotel is offensive and insulting.
About as good as you can expect from a hotel - all things were up to scratch, the staff were lovely, the room was clean and of a good quality, the food (both dinner and breakfast) was absolutely delicious. My main problems would be the quality and quantity of the tea/coffee provided in the room - it simply wasn't enough and it tasted terrible, considering the cost. My only other issue was that the bar only had one real ale on offer, a rather poor one, which was a disappointment. Overall we had a wonderful time and I'd love to go back.
****UPDATE the deposit was returned later the same day no probs! What we did like... Room with view of Coasters was very good quality and very clean. Bar and Seating areas very nice. Location is perfect and good parking. Room Service staff freindly and polite. Good Value. What we didnt like... On check in they insist on a £100 deposit for drinks, parking etc. On check out your told you wont recieve the deposit back for up to 10 Days!!! Evening Bar man although seemed polite to customers was visably rude and snappy with his colleagues. Breakfast lovely but not worth £19 each. TV in room lovely and big but strange to operate.. thought it was duff batteries in remote but swapped them myself and still wouldnt change channels properly.
