The first room we were given the ac didn't work. Went to the front desk to see if we could get another room we were told that they didn't have any more rooms. We then decided to get a refund and go somewhere else. Asked the guy for a refund and he refused to do so. We told him that he needed to give us our money back or find us another room. He proceeded to show some smoking rooms that were nasty! We were not about to stay in them. He then woke the owner up who lives there and asked what to do. He was told by the owner to put us in business class. We got into the room and found MOLD in spots all over the room. We had no other option and decided to stay. After getting settled we found more.... The floors had not been clean there was hair and dirt along the edge of the floors. Pee on the floor around the toilet. Hair on all the towels. The bed was damp due to so much moisture in the air the lamps were rusting! I slept on top of the bed and blankets. I had family staying in 2 other rooms. They had the same issues with mold and filth. But their room has no smoke alarms and had the wires hanging out of the wall. The one room also had the locking mechanism on the main door falling off. When checking out I told them about the mold he said he did not know it was there. I do not know how he didn't it was all over. Needless to say spend a little more if possible and go somewhere else.

We had a bad experience in a Red Roof Inn in Lexington a few years ago, but decided to give the chain another chance. Bad idea. The front desk staff was extremely rude. Then the room was dirty. The bathroom was gross and every fabric everywhere had cigarette burns (this was a non-smoking room). Then there was the leaky air conditioner which left a massive puddle on the floor. When we asked for extra towels to soak up the leak, the rude front desk refused to give us extra towels. Red Roof Inn has lost my business for good this time. It's not worth it to get the pets stay free perk.

Honestly the best Red Roof ever?? Like Days-Inn level clean and pleasant, at Red Roof prices. Also they keep the ACs on at 75 so it's not boiling hot when you arrive, which is amazing. All in all, very pleasantly surprised - I wish every Red Roof could be like this!

Decent hotel for the price...there is a sign and the hotel receptionist enforced this that breakfast must be eaten in the breakfast room where there are only 3 tables and only like biscuits, gravy, fluid scrambled eggs, toast, orange juice, milk cereal and honey bun thing. Like seriously? This isn't a full on Holiday Inn express buffet breakfast. The first room I was put in the fire alarm needed a new battery and was beeping constantly. Then I told the front desk about it and they put me in a new room. The new room needed a new fire alarm battery too but just not beeping constantly. They really need to check if everything is in good working order. How can a housekeeper not know to report this either to get to that point? On top of that my new room didn't have a microwave that they had to bring me one. Is there any consistency? I won't stay at this red roof inn next time. Oh and my hairdryer didn't work either
