Journey House helped change my life. I started as a participant, became a Peer Leader, then an employee, and now live independently and work in restaurant management. I arrived in December, 2021, with little more than a sliver of hope that I could develop and maintain a recovery lifestyle after 25 years of being controlled by drugs and alcohol. The staff showed me a kind of love I had never experienced. For 2 years I lived in a JH recovery house, and was encouraged, challenged, and supported as I learned a completely new way to live. My Peer Leaders and Facilitators there are some of the best people I’ve ever met. One has even become one of my closest friends. The founder, Mike, and his wife, treated me like a family member, and still take time to encourage me regularly. I have a life worth living again.
