For a Quality Inn hotel, this location was clean, room was okay and it didn't smell. We were in room 144 late September. We came up for a Patriots game. The room was fine to spend the night. It was 25 minutes from the stadium. Remember the level of hotel you're booking. I felt it was safe and fine for a short trip. C they had hot coffee, egg/sausage muffins and juice for breakfast.

Upon check in a strong cigarette odor was present, I went and made the clerk aware of this and the next day they brought an ozone machine to remedy the situation. This was a temp fix until the tenants (they were living there) in the room next to us started smoking again (this is a non smoking facility). Additionally, this is an old motel that has been very poorly updated and maintained. On top of that the floors in the room were sticky and we could not walk in there barefoot due to all the dirt that would stick to our feet. Gross.

An interesting thing happened to me yesterday in Taunton. I realize the town is no gem, nor surrounding towns. ||I had booked a room for 2 nights at the Quality in so I could attend and work at the Bull Terrier Club of the NE's weekend show.| I got to check-in around 6:15. Got my keys and drove around to where my room was.||To me it appeared it was full of people who were living there. Walking around in bare feet or slippers. Dressed like Walmart rejects. All smoking a few things. Teenagers pushing babies in strollers just walking around. Several small cars would pull up and leave. A constant change in faces. The hallway itself smelled to high heaven of some heavily perfumed masking odor. As well as the smell of something cooking that was plain gross. Paint was peeling off all the doors and the carpet, filthy with spills. Babies crying in rooms. Some people looked high as a kite. I did not feel safe carrying in my things.||Once in the room, I could see it had been "used and abused" my radar went to an extreme level. I called home and the booking agency I used. As dusk came, more and different people were congregating around the entrance door area.|Being a single woman with a nice vehicle and obviously what I carried in, I felt like a sitting duck.||For all the people there, there were no cars. Ubers, and the odd small car coming and going.|I made the decision to leave before it got darker. They even commented on my leaving. I couldn't get out of there fast enough and drove back home on pure adrenalin.

When checking in I was asked if I was staying alone. The reservation was for two people. My brother was in the vehicle waiting for me. The area draws in a rough clientele. The employee was nice to give me a heads up so I was aware of my surroundings. Much appreciated that as I am a 57 year old woman. When it came time to run my card the machine glitched and didn't process on their end. It however processed on my end showing it pending in my account. Since it was not processing on their end management instructed the gentleman helping me to run my card again. I said I wasn't comfortable with that as that would mean I was being charged twice for the room. The card was run again without my permission. Without my permission. He relayed that info over the phone to the manager that I wasn't comfortable with running it again, said "ok". I assumed he didn't run it again because I said no. Saw the charges days later as I was traveling back to Michigan. I did call back. The money is being returned to my account as it should be. I have to wait the 5-7 business days for it to come off pending though. Now about the clientele they draw in. They do have people living there that are smoking weed stinking the place up and throwing their trash on the ground next to the trash cans. The exit doors don't lock properly. When trying to exit the building they don't freely open. Huge fire safety hazard. Beds and pillows are comfortable. AC works. Room was dusty. Bedspread was stained. Bedding and linens appeared clean. No signs of bugs.
