We stayed here during the first week of Oct. which is during the Apple Days Festival. The normal nightly rate is $54 but we were charged $125 because of the festival. We were in town to visit family. We were warned by our family to lock our vehicle everywhere we go because of the homeless druggies in town. After the 1st day the door to our room did NOT lock when we left the room. You could enter our room without a key! We notified the front desk and they said they would check it, but it never changed. We left the Do Not Disturb tag on our door so people would think someone was in the room. We asked, before we booked the room, if the pool was working. And we were told the pool was open until the end of Oct. It was empty! I asked the lady cleaning the rooms and she said the pool hasn't been filled in 2 years. Our bathroom door would NOT close and the toilet seat was loose to the point that I almost fell off the toilet the first time I sat down. The sink was plugged up and took several minutes to drain. If you want breakfast, you better get it early! Once things are gone, especially the hot food like biscuits and gravy, the staff does NOT put out more. On the plus side, the water was hot, the room and bed was clean (no bed bugs), and the ice machine worked!

The room smelled like wet carpet and cigarettes 🚬, and kind of moldy. The room was supposed to be NON-SMOKING! I have a real sensitivity to smoke and I couldn't breath properly in the first 3 minutes in the room, not to mention when I got to the room there was a man smoking right next to my room with all of his smoke going in my room via the door and then the air-conditioner. The owner or GM did give me another room but once I turned on the air-conditioner the room filled with old cigarettes smell immediately!! My asthma 😫 started getting worse immediately as well. I WARN YOU, IF YOU DO NOT SMOKE THIS HOTEL IS NOT FOR YOU!!! And do not subject kids to this unclean environment!!! The one good part to report was the refund. My wife had booked this for me and she did get her money back. After Capitol One travel called to request it. All in all, stay somewhere else unless you smoke and don't care about very old and out dated conditions. 💯 disappointed and dissatisfied!!!!

I paid $100 a night for a room, it was dirty, nasty and most important, The TV would not work. I went back to the front desk an hour after I checked in told the TV would not work, they would not refund me my money or give me any reduction because of non-operating TV. He says nothing I can do would not credit me anything back on the room and I will never ever stay there again.

Stayed here 5 minutes, met a roach, got charged for the privilege …went to the Ramada instead and remembered what clean looks like Checked into the Days Inn by Wyndham in Paintsville, KY, and within minutes, I had a roommate…..a big, disgusting roach. I didn’t even bother unpacking. I marched to the front desk and told the woman working (Indian lady at the desk) what I found. Her reaction? A casual, “Do you want another room?” As if moving me to a different, equally roach-infested box would magically solve the problem. No apology. No concern. Just the kind of customer service you’d expect from someone who’s seen this a thousand times and stopped caring. And then the cherry on top….she still charged me for the night I refused to stay in that dump. I went down the road to the Ramada by Wyndham, and it was like stepping into a whole different planet. Clean. Welcoming. Pest-free. You know… a hotel. Days Inn Paintsville isn’t just bad, it’s a biohazard with a front desk.
