Residency Hotel and Bar

If I hadn't have already prepaid I would have turned round. Not the warm Welcome you would normally receive at a hotel. Room, had bad staining from what looked like a large leak, windowsill badly stained, cups stuck to metal grill which hadn't been cleaned, the storing stick was green on the end and the one spoon stained. Bedding clean but mattress was thin and you could feel all the springs so sleep poor along with noisy guests and hanging above. Lighting kept going off, possibly fault. Bathroom clean but the mat was stained with various colours of which one looked like old blood stain drips. The shower was ok, power shower was too powerful and kept moving so had to turn down, it was a waterfed system same as my own shower but the water pressure made it to strong. No proper hanging faults but a plastic and metal rack with missing bits.. not good if you managed to stay longer. The serve no food as I knew, although picture of dining facilites..i wouldn't want to eat there though. . Parking was 7.50 in advert but £10 when we got there. One space on side of building.. luckily got Road space right outside of entrance and free! Reviews on hotel.com look OK, but search around and you'll see the real ones. This is next door the the Dudley Hotel...stay there instead, costs more but lovely, brekkie bar, social interaction and great hosts plus a free carpark. We came for a quick one night so chose this, £57 for night but will go back to paying £100 for something a lot better and to have sleep.

Clean and tidy, and a pleasant lady welcomed us. Warm room on a cold day.|Niggly problems: Faulty bedside light light, shower head moved around and there was no food at all. Faulty lock on entrance door caused a few moments of concern when we couldn't get in. The hotel isn't seafront, so don't expect an uninterrupted sea view. Okay overall if it's cheap.

Me and partner had a one night stay at the hotel over the bank holiday weekend and it was brilliant. The manager was extremely helpfully and welcoming and was a great help with our parking issue. We were more than pleased with the room, clean comfy and plenty of room. Only down side was the smell of weed in the downstairs corridor at night but not bad enough to put us off coming back. Very nice hotel and hosts.
