I will absolutely never go to this walk in clinic and the one affiliated with it again!!! 1 1/2 years ago it was very, nice, clean and very nice staff…. I arrived at 10:30am and was seen at 3:00…. Which I understand. Once in the back an hour a nurse walked in with a computer… and a man talking on it. I had said I would wait for th NP I had a tellahealth call from Erath LA. Of course he couldn’t look in my mouth or nose, so he had the lady look in it to say ohhh yea there is a blister/sore very inflamed!!!! I did not talk again…. He said he would send an antibiotic for staff to the pharmacy.

Dr. Gabrielle was one of the best providers that we've seen since we've been going SouthStar. She took her time and was very attentive. She was very friendly and very helpful. I only want to see her for now on when I go there, If that's possible.

I visited SouthStar Urgent Care in New Iberia late in the day and unable to see my normal family doctor but felt bad enough that I wanted to see a doctor earlier rather than later. Unfortunately, I left feeling unheard, misdiagnosed, and disappointed in the level of care I received and overall wasted time and money. The physician associate did not ask for a full medical history or allow me the opportunity to explain much of anything. They proceeded to give the normal rsv and covid test, which both came back negative and they quickly attributed my condition to a “bad reaction to a medication” and then oddly had a blood test taken. What concerned me most is that she did not perform any sort of exam—no normal or typical assessment, like checking the ears, the throat etc. I called back the next week to see how the blood work looked and was advised that there was nothing wrong with the blood work. Another doctor reviewed the blood work from a separate entity and I was informed they had not read the results correctly. I was also advised to never go back to this urgent care due to their lack of normal operating procedures. Most concerning was the lack of knowledge and not preforming normal operating medical procedures, aside from that I felt very unheard and a lazy diagnosis was given. Aside from the medical side of things the staff were very unprofessional, receptionist doesn’t check you in, instead they point to a QR code and you are then required to check yourself in, not even sure what’s the purpose of this person being there other than an unfriendly greeting. On top of that everything could be heard from inside of the exam room of all the nurses gossiping, etc from their area they were in. Included in their gossip it was talked about how they had a former receptionist who was walking into the back stealing and writing their own prescriptions. Just all around outrageously unprofessional.
