Customer experiences
I’m from Shelby. The guys were delayed because a previous job but they called and let me know. This is what you expect. The work was done to my satisfaction and they check with me to make sure everything was as I expected. I just have some plugs added to the house and also a surge protection. There were some modifications and they adjusted the estimate and payment was credit card without extra charge. I really appreciate that. I will definitely use them again when fisnsh the basement.
Yippee!!!! NO DRYWALL REPAIR NEEDED IN THE SPACE WHERE THE LIGHTING WAS INSTALLED!!! Steve expertly installed ceiling lighting in a room where we have our pool table. The problem is the floor is on a slab, hence no basement access for wiring, and no attic space to work with either as there is a bedroom directly above. It was a mystery to us of how this could be done! Steve made just one small square (1’ x 1’) access panel from the adjacent garage ceiling to work from! He installed eight flat wafer lights (now used instead of the old can lights), and a center light fixture. Steve also installed two wall switch locations. One of them is remote off the other therefore requiring no drywall damage for wiring. Steve thoughtfully cut the drywall panel across studs so that it was easy to put back into place with drywall screws. He mentioned leaving the panel accessible for the installation of a fireplace insert in the future. Steve was mindful of our black tile grout and careful not to leave any mess. He took his time to plan every step and worked efficiently throughout the process. The communication was great. He was respectful and very nice to be around and also on time! We will have Steve Hammer back for future projects! He is a real PRO! And now we don’t have to hire a drywall company! Woo hoo! 😃
Having service professionals who you can trust and feel good about with helping you maintain your home is easier said than done these days. Thankfully, we discovered Neighborhood Electrician a couple of years ago and feel confident that any future electrical needs we have will be well taken care of by Nate’s team and will be done at a fair price. Over the last 2 years, this company has done a variety of small projects for us, as well as a full, electrical service panel replacement. Every electrician who came to our house was professional, polite, friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, timely and did a quality job. Questions were always answered in an understandable way. It is also notable that they kept us informed of who was assigned to our work, when they would arrive, and if any changes to the schedule and/or work was required. We appreciated this communication.
I called The Neighborhood Electrician about upgrading my electrical panel in my home. Nate showed up on time and looked at our old electrical panel. He told us that he believed that Shelby Twp would require us to move our panel away from our sump pump. He called the building department and they confirmed that we would need to move the panel. He did this before I had even hired him for the job. Another company told me I would not need to move the panel and never bothered to check with the inspectors. The other company never sent an electrician-only a sales person that would call the office with questions. Nate gave us 3 separate quotes based on what I would want done. It was a big job. Nate pulled all the permits, they upgraded my 1956 home panel to 200 amps, added a whole house surge protector, a power disconnect, a 30 amp RV outlet, 2 new outdoor outlets, and an outlet for our portable generator. On the scheduled work day, several workers showed up and worked all day. They were polite and courteous. Nate explained the process to hook up our generator during a power outage as well as showing me the cord I would need to buy to make it work. I would recommend The Neighborhood Electrician to anyone and will use them for all my future electrical projects.
The Neighborhood Electrician is a electrical installation service.
