Made an appointment for our cat to have his annual checkup and vaccines. We arrived about 30 minutes early and they fit him right in. You can’t go wrong with any of the doctors here but I always love getting Dr Goeckel. All of the staff is so friendly and willing to help. I’ve been bringing my cats here since 1977 when I was a teenager. Never a bad experience!

8/28/2025 *** A new update** visit with sleepover. Rookie had an injury to his right paw and also needed a health assessment with yearly shots and a shave of matted fur. As always the staff was wonderful from start to finish giving me updates as they happened. It was discovered that one of his claws did not shed and was growing into the pad of his paw. After sedation it was treated and all of his needs were taken care of. I really love this clinic. They will find a way to meet your needs and work with you to help your pet. Happy Cat, happy life. Love, Rookie Thomas As an update for my appointment on 1/14/2025, Rookie needed to have matted fur removed. Everything was taken care of better than I expected. I’m always worried about Rookie but he came home healthy and happier with the matting removed. Happy cat happy life. When I make my appointment they always ask if I want a certain vet and I say any one of them are exceptional. My pet and I are treated with kindness and compassion. I love this clinic!! We moved back to Lake Charles last summer and chose University Animal Clinic as our home vet clinic. I have been very pleased with the care and concern Dr. Goeckel has shown our two cats and dog. Dr. Woodward just did a double cherry eye surgery on our dog and we are very happy with the results. The front desk staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I always find good conversation in the waiting room; the clients who chose University are an amicable bunch. I recommend University Animal Clinic to all of my friends and family.
